The 144 CHI board of directors announced this week the receipt of 34 housing improvement applications, 25 of which were awarded funding. The applications are for exterior improvements to houses in communities along the Highway 144 corridor stretching from Rippey to Grand Junction, Dana, and Paton.
The awards total $22,980, with matching funds bringing the total economic impact to more than $216,061 across 25 homes.
The board is comprosed of Mary Weaver, Alan Robinson, Derek Kennedy, Annie Smith, Kate Neese, Jake Bohnet, and John Rigler III.
Donations to the fund were received from Peoples Bank, Rolling Hills Bank, Home State Bank, Greene County Development Corporation, and the Greene County board of supervisors by allowing use of funds from Louis Dreyfus. Future funds were also pledged out of the Grow Greene County allocations to the cities of Rippey, Grand Junction, Paton, and Dana, and an additional private contribution by Community State Bank.
“The board would like to extend our gratitude towards all those who have contributed and pledged for future contribution,” said Rigler. “Over the next five years the board hopes for similar results. If successful, 144 CHI will have disbursed more than $100,000 towards exterior improvements to more than 100 homes, totaling more than $1,000,000 in direct investment.”
Any board member is happy to speak with anyone interested in making future donations to the fund or receiving a grant application.
